Try scientiifc angler's full sink high density grey line, run 20' of maxima 6lb. test for leader, two small split shot 12'' or so above your tandem streamer fly. Then hang on when that salmon hits and leaps! Have been using this for over 20 years for early season trolling, outfishes floating line 5 to 1 and full sink green line 2 to 1, make sure to match line weight to flyrod weight. If trolling hardware (lures) skip the splitshot weights on the leader. Depending on trolling speed the grey line gets you down an extra two to three feet as compared to the full sink green line which makes all the difference. Good luck! ;) |
