Congrats to your grandson.  I've fished my entire life (52) and just caught my first muskie as well. Good job.

Looks like he is lovin every minute of it! Muskies are still pretty rare in most of Maine, right? Nice fish. WTG!

They were just starting to come to the mouth of the brooks when the river rose. When it goes down some the fishing should be pretty good.

All fileted, deboned and ready to go. Probably eat it for supper tomorrow night.. I'm trying to teach him you kill it, you eat it, but catch and release is the way to go.
Being his 1st one he wanted to eat it..

nothing wrong w/ that. its them big breeding females that are over 10lbs. that you want to release anyway.

glad to see a young man getting hooked. as for the muskellunge, kill them all, even if you just plow them into the garden.
