pretty sure the name says it all. Talked to catch the drift and he says there are a few milling around but not hundreds, in my book his info is solid. GL to all in the upcoming season.

I enjoy watching Catch the Drift fish the Oswego. He's polite and seems to respect the bank anglers space. Not many people blast up the Oswego in a drift boat with inboard motor in February at 12000 cfs.

MOST FUN I HAD  IN OSEWGO WAS THAT SUMMER RUN OF BROWNS ;D ;D I'M IN SHORTS  DRIFTING FOR  BROWNS ALL SUMMER ! RIVER  TO MYSELF   AND HOOKING UP .....THATS ONE THING ABOUT OSWEGO YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT AND WHEN ....IT'S BIG WATER  WITH A SHORT RUN TO THE LAKE ...  YOU CAN USUALLY ALWAYS  FIND SOMETHING WORTH FISHING FOR  ...IN JULY I WOULD  HIT  ABOVE THE POWER HOUSE  WACK BROWNS  HEAD  DOWN TO THE TRAIN BRIDGE HOLE  DRIFT FOR A MONSTER WALLEYE THEN TOSS THE  BOAT IN GO FIND  SOME  SMALLMOUTHS  OR  HIT THE  WEEDS  BY THE  STEAM STATION FOR A BUCKETMOUTH OR TWO.........YA GOTTA LOVE IT ;D

I had a couple of vetrans over there Wednesday, they raked the whole dam area with light line from the flume to the corner and over to the rock! A couple of 4lb browns and NO Salmon. worked the water like a grid, theres some gar and carp up there too! They also said a couple of guys might have been getting a few browns on bait near the power house!

Hey Slayer , heres something to think about. The Oswego River drains alot of warm surface waters from Oneida Lake and the seneca river and all of its swamps and bays.  Where as the Salmon River is heavilly wooded and rural with colder nights! WATER TEMP IS EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW! Need cold / cloudy days over there, cold rain wouldn't hurt, if the waters are low, I always used to get my first Salmon below the Power house, usually at the end of the island wall in the very end tailout early in September! If you do go to the dam, climb up on it, you can pull yourself up just to the left of the center rock, then fish the very corner, great spot for steelies!
