Monster Maine Striper

Caught near Wells Maine on a live pogie. Used a 6.5 foot Ugly Stik and Okuma HS 40 reel with 14 pound test braided line. I was SUPPOSED to snag a pogie and put him on my big rod but never got the pogie to the boat. Which isn't a bad thing. Just made it a lot more interesting. Like start the motor and chase him when the line started getting real thin Running the boat and keeping the line tight is fun.

That's huge!!!!! Nice haul. I've never caught a bait fish and then had a bigger fish eat it on the way in. Awesome Job!!

try catching perch in the thousand islands, you will learn to hate pike! but nice fish sure does look like a wall hanger
