Hey guys, planning a trip in about a month with my father in the moose river plains.. we've done well at Squaw before, but I'm wondering if anyone has recently taken the hike to Indian Lake? I imagine the trail would be pretty easy, considering its the old plains road.  But hows the fishing? Looks to be about a 2 Mile hike beyond the squaw trailhead, is it worth it?? Any info on any of the lakes in that region would be greatly appreciated, we just wanna get on some fish this year!

Thanks river rat! I've had a hard time locating much info on the lake.. we're going into the trip a little bit blind.. your info about the depth and location of some holes is helpful. I assume there is a decent camp site to set up at? Looking at the lake on Google earth it is hard to tell of any campsites, and it appears really shallow all along the shoreline so we'll definitely be wheeling the canoe along with us. About how far is it from the old plains road to the water once you get near the lake?

have not fished this pond in some time, but i think the tail was close and there
were several camp spots, run east and west with your clear and change your
leader to find where they are use 1ft to 3ft or more[clean and shine your clear spoon]
and do the same with your spinner blades
as far as i can remember it is about 2 miles from squaw ???

Your notes always amaze me, RAT..........even hand drawn maps!   :thumbup_smilie:
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
