Where is your rebuttal to anything he said?? Come on lets here your words of wisdom....

i made 2 points.... both of which were shot down as wrong  .... without even allowing the possiblity they were correct

1 - dealt with the bass fishery in the eastern basin and the impact of the cormorants....   when they went out to galoo and shot them all years ago it was because they were hurting the fishery .... my friend's father is a life long guide in henderson and if he says the fishery was off dramatically  i believe him .... he's been fishing there for 60+ years.  On top of that don't you think it would have to have been fairly serious for the community to come together and cough up enough money to buy 10,000 shotgun shells and for law abiding citizens to do something like this??

2 - the impact of the coyotes on the deer population ..... i am in eastern ny and the numbers are way down  ... and the coyotes getting 1 out of 2 fawns does have an impact....

I am all for a healthy discussion of this stuff and can and do listen to opposing viewpoints....   but i don't state that i am right and refuse to listen to the opinion of someone who disagrees with me.

I'll end with the old statement ... "opinions are like you know whats ... everyone has one"

never said i had the right answers ... i was just pointing out some things i have heard and read ... more info for everyone

i had a similar situation with a mod on stripers 247 who swore you couldn't catch stripers in the hudson until the water got to 50 degrees ......  despite the fact that my biggest ever was caught in 41 degree water ...........

my point was if you could net herring then you could catch stripers ........  his point was once you get to 50 degrees the herring start hitting the sabikis which makes striper fishing easier ....  which is correct

but he was so upset that i disagreed with him that he deleted my posts ...... because i disagreed with him

bottom line is maybe there is some truth to my opinion (and the statment of a lifelong guide)

We're all good ship of fools, if you delete the a-hole comment. Different opinions are more than welcome. That's just another reason we are here. My only job here is to keep it civil and clean of profanity. I'd delete that comment immediately if I had the capability to via the mobile browser.

How do you know what he fishes for??  He guides for bass all summer long .......  and has for 50+ years ......  and i value and respect his opinion .... perhaps he may have some credibility??

This is my last post on this subject  ........  once again you won't even consider there is some truth to what i have said  rolleyes
