When I get a batch of those in the box, I'm going to work on open water carp flies. I want a 40 lb'er on the fly from Lake Ontario. When it gets warm, you'll find me fishing the flats for old rubbernose ;D

You got that right. I caught quite  few last season. Best was close to 15. All on honest flies. I've been reading a lot on the guys who chase them around the Great Lakes shorelines. I all in for that.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Been dabbling a little, not enough, but it's fun none the less. Especially, since the winter has been brutal again. Ice fishing before the brutal cold and snow but not really since February. I'm feeling old out there pulling 80-100 lbs of stuff around. I won't do it anymore and the investment to buy the equipment is not worth the amount of time you use it a given season in NJ. There's no guarantee that you'll even have ice in NJ let alone 4-8 weeks of safe ice although we may be in a cooling phase climate wise.

For freshwater it's been Caddis and Hare's ear flies:

For Steelhead: Intruders              For saltwater: ties like Spearing & Gurglers:

For Bone Fish, Clousers, Gotcha's and shrimp patterns:

They look good!
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Beautiful Bird Raquettedacker!!

Nice herl on that bird for the good old leadwing coachman wet fly pattern, which  works great for trout down this way. 8)  ;)
I'm fishing my way through life .
