It's some sweet herl eh Bart!

I just did some dace for the current conditions. Up and fairly clear.

I'm hoping to get on the Genny later this week. It's been dropping and should be in great condition.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Yes, that bird had magic feathers and mystic powers.

I use model airplane paint and the ends of small nails for the eyes on streamers, not that those tiny eyes matter that much to the fish but it makes them look pretty.

You guys are killing me with your free time. I've tied little, having spend the better part of 4 months building a new man cave in the basement and I've had no time to fish, let alone tie flies.  I need to catch up.

Yeah....but you do have the Man Cave :w00t:

Just got back. Too stinking hot for anything to be active. Had 3 pods of carp all around me but they were just cruising. Even the gills were resting. I'm gonna give it another try really early tomorrow morning.

Polish style woven nymphs

Rg

I can't tell how big they are Rg by the picture. I was thinking maybe trying something on a 14 or 16 with acetate floss maybe a small tungsten bead for ice fishing ???

10, 12, 14. They work for ice fishing.

Here's a video of one style.

Here's another one that's really neat for panfish flies.

Here's a good one for the Granny Weave. One of my favorites. Probably because it's the easiest to get right ;D

Not that hard to do really. I find it easier if I talk to myself as I do weaving. "Black on top.....yellow on bottom".
To my surprise, I sold around $100 worth of flies yesterday at my garage sale. Also sold that Phillipson I restored and picked up a couple customers for rod builds and repairs.

Not a bad first day. Sent a bunch of stuff down the road ;D

And the cycle continues sell and fix things so you can buy and build things. You could build rods full time Rg but don't let it get in the way of fishing. I've had more than a few people ask me about that fly rod. I can't wait until I get time to use it ..... I'm thinking about to catch the two day flu !!!

Ahhhhh...fish flu ;D

I'm starting a 5 wt for a friend of mine. I think it's the 5th rod I've built him. He's cured of "off the shelf" disease ;D

I was on the creek this morning hunting carp. Had a couple of pods feeding, couldn't get a take. Looked as though they were chasing crayfish. I did roll one, but no hookup.

Here's one you should learn to tie RP. This thing is a bass killing machine.

I'm gonna skip the narrative unless you need specific instructions.
Hook: 6 > 12 n-curve nymph
Eyes: black chain bead or dumb bells
Tail: marabou
Body: dubbing mix.....wing flash, yarns, raccoon under belly with guard hairs......blended in my coffee grinder. I suppose you could use some sort of crystal dubbing.

One of my all time favorite inventions ;D

Very nice bass magnets for sure. Pretty hard to beat dubbing material on the body of flies and always fun to create your own.
