Fish Finders with Side Imaging Capabilities

I'm buying a new fish finder. Do you think side imaging is worth the extra $ or just bells and whistles ?
The worse day fishing is still better than the best day working!

I have a Humminbird 798HDsi and absolutely love the side imaging. The lakes I fish have very little structure and the si has helped find a lot of stuff in what I thought was bare bottom.

It's fun just looking at what's under you. My regular lake is rumored to have a Sea Serpent living in it. It may be true. I think I found it's woodchuck like mound and underwater den ;D.

i use my side imaging for prefishing bass tournaments...allows me to see how far those underwater points go and where those rockpiles are at the end of those points....also great great  for marking brush piles etc.....

Worth it. Get the biggest screen you can afford, it helps with seeing details.

Browse through this forum, it shows you what SI is capable of and will answer lots of your questions.

Absolutely worth it, being able to "see" whats under a dock or low hanging branch without creeping up on it is awesome.
