Fishing Guides in Key West
« on: Apr 10, 2014, 05:16 PM »
Hey guys- I'm headed to key west in a few weeks and wanted to book a tarpon guide ASAP but there's a million to choose from. I didn't know if anyone has been down and used any good guides you would recommend? Fly fishing would be cool, but tarpon is the #1 species I'm looking for so flyfishing isn't a must. Any input would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.  Thanks!

Look into the guides that come out of Hawk's Key, they are great.

I can't recommend the one guy my dad has used for the last several years due to a massave stroke. But he always works with the other guys that guide out of Hawk's Kay.

It's a big resort that is located just north of Marathon, plus it seems as if the bridges right around in the area hold lots of tarpon. We saw them swimming all around the docks there too.

Good luck and hope you have a blast.
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!
