Bass Lake 4-12-14
« on: Apr 13, 2014, 08:33 AM »
Got the boat out for the first run, changed prop, oil, plugs. Everythings good in preperation for our Erie trip which is only a few weeks away. I never got a bite, bro Scott that fished with me missed one. Beautiful morning till them winds kept building more and more. It was great to get out. Lots of boats when we left.
There were a few others out, I'll let them tell there stories. Slept for 3 hrs when I got home, think I'm coming down or fighting something off.

Glad you made it out. I was out there as well fighting the wind. We managed 1 keeper eye, 1 keeper crappie, and 1 smallmouth. What boat were you in? I was in the Alumacraft.

Nice pic Tom. What was the temp? Did you fish shallow or deep?

That's a pretty pic.  Is that a sunrise or a sunset?  Those winds can be brutal.  I've had actually be rescued from Lake Summit before due to high winds and a lame trolling motor.  Thank goodness for nice people.  Hope you get well soon.

Congrats on the fish Icecleate!

ive stayed at fenwick many times when tryn to hit the jig bite. I prefer to cast for walleyes or even bottom bounce. But so many times weve went we hit it wrong with either high winds or muddy water. We now go in june and put in at catawba state park. The water is generally clearer although we do have to troll for em. we also get look on the internet and can see a satalitte image of erie taken every 4hours. That helps us determine if were gona go or not. to exspensive to go ang not geta fish! Good luck and if you ever need a co angler or no anyone whos lookn for someone to fill a spot, im all in !!! I love that lake!!!

Yes we have blow days, we stay at Maume Bay state park, big nice cabins.
We hit Detroit River on blow days-only 1 hr away-fish-fish - fish.
Good Luck
