Chip for Lowrance HD5 2nd Gen

I have the Insite Maps and they are ok.
I was wondering if anyone out there had the Navionics Platinum chip or any other for this unit and has used it on a large body like Lake Erie or Ontario.
I know the Navionics chip makes a huge difference on smaller bodies of water with a lot more structure.
But does it really make that much of a difference out in a large body like Erie when you are in 50-130 FOW?

The chip is $169 and was wondering if it's really worth the investment.

definitely worth it, there are a lot more detail as far as wrecks, contours etc, take Seneca shoals for instance you would not believe how many tight contours there are on there. best investment i ever made. i run mine on a hds 10 gen 2 and a elite 7 on other boat
