Why do you want to travel so far? Sac. Res. is a GREAT lake for smallies  and not bad for walleyes & trout. Don't believe the crap about "The Dead Sea". I limit out on smallies every time I go out and recently caught my first Brownie (18.5") and limited out on walleyes as well. No records, but, if you just want to catch & release, it is a fun lake.

People who catch large bass in the 4lbs plus size an keep them kinda hurt the big bass population  in the small lakes around here. Its just my opinion .. I wouldnt go into another mans back yard an rape his lake after he was kind enough to give me a tip.. just me I guess.. an I fish sac res ice fishing .. an its deff not a dead sea.. ive been to southbay an ticon about 30times in 2yrs .. just lookin for a nice like I hadnt fished ever.. its alright just lookin for new ideas by more experienced fisherman its cool forget it ..

if I kept all the bass over 4lb's I have caught, there wouldnt be any big bass for anyone else to catch.

Thank me now  :o :o

yeah! ALong with the ones from champlain, ballston, saratoga, lake lonely etc...

I have maybe fished that puddle 5 times this year. Been doing tournaments and fishing other places. Candlewood, saratoga, ballston and mostly champlain.
