ROCK BASS
« on: Jul 19, 2014, 12:29 PM »
this is from an article in -field/stream,8/14,page 30]
i have got these guys in some ponds back in as far as
8 miles,GREAT fights,good eating,and to me worth keeping
some. the bigger ones i got around ROCKS  was on spinners,
jigs/worms, or bobber/worms[like still water but SLOW moving
water is best for me.
one time in the little salmon river[in spring] i got about 100 all C/R
JUST on the other side of rt.3 with a bobber and a 2hook rig with
a full worm this was spawn time for them in this river "i think"
 ;D ;D ;D

I love rock bass! We have an unofficial Rock Bass Tounament every year, complete with T-shirts, trophies and bragging rights. I even named my boat "Rock Bass Pro" Glad to see this mighty fish is getting some attention

Awe come on, Rat.  Afternoon nap and a late cup of coffee!    ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

For me, I will sleep when I am dead... Not that I would stay up to catch rock bass... I am happy to get some nice ones when fishing for bass, but I am not into fishing for pan fish very often...

TOTALLY, I love when rockbass try, try and try to eat my jitterbug at night!!!!!!!!!!
It keeps you on the edge of your seat and teaches you not get jerky when you hear, POP, POP, need to wait till you feel the rod load up.    :w00t:
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

we went over the land by the big bend, the land owner  wanted us to put the fish back
and we did. and on the way out we stoped and thanked him, also so he see we had no fish
we got alot more rockies  then smallies fished it for 3days[ between the two bends other side of rt 3 was best]
