Planes, trains and bass fishing

I decided to get out this evening headed to Stone but the ramp was a zoo. Decided to head to Clear Lake. I've always heard good things but never done well. I started out trolling for crappie and couldn't buy a bite. Tied on some bass lures and connected with this nice bass. Close to 19". There are always freight trains near his lake, and tonight a guy was flying a remote control plane. It was right over my boat very cool and saw him land it several times, fun time!

I remember when one of my boys wanted to become a remote controller. I did some research and found out a few things. The first was I couldn't afford it. You need to take out insurance and become a member and fly only in designated fly zones. Must be different ordinances there in La Porte. I will have to see what Mitch knows about this. Anyway, 20 years later I find out that a good friend of mine has a mother-in-law that owns a field and leases it to the fly club in Wheeler. I guess the larger the plane the easier it is to fly. Knew a guy that just built one. Had over 600 rapped up in it and crashed it within 2 minutes of the virgin flight. This was a cheaper one. The helicopters are kewl. I have been there (my friends house, next to the field) and seen about 8 different toys on the table tops. Mostly older boys toys. My neighbor has a gas remote car and that thing will scream about 50 in seconds. Guess the subs and boats are also fun. Just have to have deep pockets LOL.

Gold rapala! Can't beat that lure ! I had a remote plane when I was a kid, one flight straight up and straight down crashed in a million pieces!! Vivid memory!! This guy to night was awesome taking off and landing it on the road around the lake.
