WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY??? RAT only good for pike to eat they are Nuance when trout fishing up north
Anyone try them for striper bait? Im sure they would die if brought in the salt of ocean but the brackish and fresher parts of rivers they must survive?
when I was a child my gramps use to take me down to the Salmon River with pieces of hot dog to catch them , and then he would watch from a distance to make me think I was a big boy on my own he use to refer to them as rubber nose trout ,he was a major player in my fishing life , they say if you pickle them they aren't bad , but have never tried it
I target me in one particular stream close by. They're pretty good size and take flies from nymphs to clousers. Never tried to eat one. I'd guess they would be oily little buggers. Fun to catch for sure.Rg
