i've had pickled carp and suckers   herring too  so i'm sure you can pickle them  if you wanted .....  i really do use them for  trapping bait  helps keep them under control a bit

dam on the sandy--i think

NEVER FAIL FALLFISH RECIPE
Ingredients:
Fallfish. filleted and skinned.
Ritz Crackers
Block of extra sharp cheddar cheese sliced 5/16" thick.
Beverage of choice.
Step 1: Run fallfish fillets thru food processor to chop fine.
Step 2: Put 1 piece of extra sharp cheddar on each Ritz cracker.
Step 3: Open container of beverage of choice.
Step 4: Enjoy your cheese and crackers and beverage.
Step 5: Feed the processed fallfish to your cat.  If your cat won't eat it or if you don't have a cat, till the processed fallfish into your compost pile.

i caught a 5 gal. pail of fallfish and put it on my bear bait, figuring that bears like fish, well it killed the bait! the bear didn't return till' i removed every fallfish on that bait! if bears won't eat fallfish……?
