Maxi Tuesday Night
« on: Aug 27, 2014, 07:56 PM »
My friend and I went to Maxi Tuesday night not knowing how the fishing was going to be after the storms.  We got there and started fishing around 11:15.  Within 5 minutes we had 2 keepers eyes in the livewell.  We thought this was going to be a great night.  But as most of you who fish Maxi know it has a mind of it's own.  We did not catch another keeper until 5:30. Those were the only eyes we caught all night.  When I got home and looked in the livewell it was full of mayflies the eyes spit up.  Turned out to be a great night considering the mayfly hatch.  SWT was 79 degrees.  Caught them trolling.

I've never tried trolling for eyes at night.  I'm heading to NE part of the state this weekend. Do you troll with the trolling motor or gas motor?  I was planing on trolling with Hot n Tots.

I troll with my gas motor and try an keep my speed between 1.6 to 1.9 mph.
