« on: Sep 01, 2014, 09:36 PM »
What is deal with Cod and Haddock fishing.....All done Sep first?    Or can we go to November first in New Hampshire?  I hear closed Sep first, but the NH regs say Nov first???????   Thanks for any clarification.

My understanding is state waters; up to 3 miles out.

Private recreational anglers can fish cod/haddock in state waters (as of now) but charter boats who hold federal permits cannot fish cod/haddock in state waters unless they give up their permits.

Meaning in a private boat you can fish (keep) in state waters (up to 3 miles out) cod, following the state regs...

Who goes to the expense of fishing for cod and haddock within the 3 mile limit? Something doesn`t add up here.
Here is info from Eastman`s site  http://www.eastmansdocks.com/reports/detail.htm?id=1873

Had a great day of inshore cod yesterday, couple hours of fishing with about 6 keepers to 24"... Nice to fish with light gear in 100' of water!
