Moved a stand Saturday afternoon, got up in it to hunt about 5:00pm, wasn't expecting to see anything
being I had made a ton of noise an hour before that.
An hour later three nice doe came in exactly from the direction I never thought they would,
and dead downwind to boot. Drew on the biggest doe, hit her good, five seconds later the skies opened up.
I was like "Really"? Not a single sprinkle before that, go figure. Anyhow, I couldn't hear if she had went down cuz the wind was so bad,
so I got down right away to track her, it was getting dark and the rain was definitely washing away blood.
Normally, I would have gone back to the house to get a light and give a little time, but this time not an option.
So I followed kick ups and small amounts of blood, she went about 75 yds and crashed, good thing, I was out of daylight and blood.
I always do a little autopsy when I shoot deer, the arrow had gone down through one lung and through the bottom of the heart
and right out the bottom of her chest. A fairly steep shot angle at 10 yds and twenty plus feet high. Going to process her tonight,
had fresh T.loins for breakfast this morning.
