Got out of work tonight and had a couple hours before my old lady had to go to work so I snuck to my stand and whacked down a doe after watching 2 eight points fighting and chasing another doe . Crazy night number 2 of the season with bow couldn't be happier!! Double lung ran 120 yards and dropped easy tracking !
Just put me on ice and ill find water!

Hey Jake,
What part of the state do you hunt where you can shoot more than 1 deer during Archery. I hunt Western area and as far as I know, only one per hunter.

It's perfectly legal for someone to sign over an antlerless deer permit (DMU Permit) to another hunter in NYS.

I hunt southern part of state. We get 1 buck tag for archery and most times get a draw for 2 DMP tags which can be used during any part of season .

NYS is all zone dependent as far as deer management goes. I still have another doe tag that I can fill during any part of season. I prefer to get my deer during bow season so then come ice season in fishing

Maybe this will clear some confusion . This is directly from the bible
A bow may also be used to fill a deer management permit during the early archery season in the Southern Zone, the Southern Zone regular season and the late archery season. In WMUs 4J and 8C only bows may be used to take deer (either sex) during the regular and archery seasons. Suffolk (WMU 1C) and Westchester counties (WMU 3S) have separate regular seasons restricted to bows for taking deer (either sex).

I have the lifetime super sportsman license.  If my GF signed over her two DMP tags to me I believe I could (If I had the inclination and ability) legally harvest six deer during archery season.  One of those would need to be a legal buck and the other five not.  Of course the four DMP tags must be used only in the appropriate DMU.  For the record, we usually take 2 per year between the two of us.    And congratulations Jake, great job!   jperch

As of Saturday you can add an extra two doe tags if you can draw them for your area

Great job Jake!  Looks like you have a really good spot there.

Just to add to the tagging points already mentioned, If you purchase a muzzle loader tag to go along with the bow tag you also get in addition to your regular antlered tag a bow/mz either sex and a bow/mz antlerless.  These are independent of any dmu tags which may be used during any season.

I drew a dmu tag and had a dmu tag signed over to me this year and so I could, but won't, take 2 bucks and 3 doe or 1 buck and 4 doe.
