We camped this past weekend at Chain o lakes with some friends. I took my kayak and a buddy and I got out for a little bit on Friday morning. We started out at our tried and true spot and there were no Crappie to be found. We started looking for them and finally found them schooled up out in deeper water. They were in 18-19' of water and about 8-12' down. We floated around and picked up a few with bobbers and minnows, but most of them came on ice jigs, jigged vertically. It was a great weekend to be out camping and fishing.
I have to throw a compliment out to my wife as well. She has a killer recipe for fish taco's. She makes a Baja sauce, then uses chopped cabbage, onions, avocado, cilantro, and siracha sauce on top. Makes an awesome meal. The fish were baked. We have made them baked and fried and their good both ways.
