Pa guy needs some advice.
« on: Dec 09, 2014, 07:51 PM »
So the wife and I are going to 1000 islands for a few days in May 2015. And I'm looking to take my boat and do some fishing on the return trip to central pa. Any advise on a pike lake around I - 81. I have a 16 foot Jon with a 25 hp motor. Not sure about lake restrictions up there. Thanks in advance mike

Any of the coves/bays in the TI hold pike..  But a good close lake is Black Lake...

When you say "pike" are you looking for Northerns or walleyes??

Either way the St lawrenriver is full of both. As previously stated you have Black lake close by; also on your way up or back you can stop at Oneida lake and/or Whitney Point res.

All good places to catch walleyes and northerns..

Chaumont Bay /Guffin Bay / Blackriver Bay on Lake Ontario are all good spots.
Give a man a fish and he eats for the day. Teach a man to fish and he will keep bait in the fridge

I am talking northerns. Is it safe to take a john boat on the st Lawrence? Seems lake there would be a lot of big wake from bigger boats. Thanks for the tips guys
