Spring fish stocking reports
« on: Mar 17, 2015, 09:00 AM »
Hi all,

I wanted to make you aware of an easy(er) way to search stocking data from Maine. http://www.open.fish, lets you search past reports by water, fish type, etc, so you don't need to search through those PDFs the state provides.

It's no guarantee that you'll catch anything, but every little bit helps.

Happy Spring Fishing!

I find nothing wrong with the states report as it's usually updated the next day after they stock.

The reports of stocking brooks in Cumb. county are  put up a couple of days after it is actually done which gives the friends of the hatchery
workers plenty of time to get most of  the brookies before anyone else knows about it. The paltry amounts stocked in this part of the state
means it doesn't take long.

What good would that do ? They call their friends as soon as they find out where they are going to stock that day.
I like to catch trout whether they are stocked or not... I am too old and beat up to get far from the road like I did when I was younger
 to find the natives.

The funny thing is they actually do that, witnessed it this last autumn, kinda sad if you ask me... but hey if that's what floats your boat go for it i guess
