Attack
Have you ever looked at the packages of wild caught Alaskan Salmon. It is all processed by the Chinese. With the way things are going they are not going to have to tell us where any of our food was raised or processed.

I don't buy that and that's not what I was speaking about Tom.
I buy the fresh from either the local large supermarket or from a local seafood supplier.
Not to say that it wasn't also caught by a Chinese fishing boat though.

Look, I fished trout and salmon in Lake O from 1977 until 1998.
Fished the derbies and probably averaged 2-3 days a week.
I have a large 3-ring binder packed with photos of large trout and salmonids from that lake that we caught.
There weren't many private boats that fished out there as much as I did.
There was a fair share of the charter captains in both Wilson and Olcott that I could call friends.
Many of which would constantly bug me about why I wasn't chartering I was out there so much.
This past spring I even did a little early spring trolling for browns.

I caught and cleaned hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds of those fish over the years.
I bled the fish.
I iced the fish.
I cut the belly fat out.
I steaked it.
I filleted it.
I ground it up for patties.
Everything.

I baked it.
Poached it.
In a casserole.
Fried it.
Grilled it.
Pickled it.
Smoked it.
Even sushi once.

I finally decided I did not like it.
And my family felt the same.
So we don't keep them anymore.
We release them so you guys can eat them.
(No thanks are required  ;D)

But, again, we eat fresh salmon from the stores and restaurants and we love it.

Is it all in our heads.
Of course!!!
That's where my taste buds are.

You guys keep eating it if you like it.
And good for you because they only die in a few years anyway.
Except for lakers, but that's an entirely different story.

We don't like Great Lakes trout and salmon and won't even try them ever again.
We eat perch, silverbass, bullhead and walleyes out of Erie and Ontario.
Even a small catfish here and there caught from the Catt.

As always.............YMMV.

Thanks for reading.
Mac

Im not convinced yet!  :w00t:

Now children.  Enough bickering about what tastes good and what doesn't.  I don't like peas and brussel sprouts but I just choose not to eat them, one man's trash is another man's delicacy.   Kinda like all those great Eastern Europeans we all see down at the creek taking pounds and pounds of salmon eggs.  Just a hint, they aren't tying those into sacs.  They love them, but to me its the most vile disgusting thing ever but to each his own lol.  Let's get the river topic back to just that, river fishing.  My buddy and I will probably be heading up late Sunday night to fish all day Monday, hoping to hook into a few with the water level going up.  Any suggestions on spots that might be holding pods of fish would be really appreciated.  If I don't hear otherwise I think we will probably start down at the black hole, always had our best luck down their during early season just gotta stay away from the "tight liners" lol

Right now just a pair korkers or some type of wading shoes are all one needs for a while , to hot for waders just IMO. , far as salmon I like it smoked is all ,but everyone has different taste is all , but walleyes and perch and blue hills are at the top of my list ,

Blue hills?

I've had some canned smoked salmon from Alaska that I liked. If the water isn't below 45 degrees I don't keep anything. Then its perch or crappies.

I'll be wet wading up to my woo hoo tomorrow morning.......just like today  ;D

By the way, who gave Mac the little blue pill? Sure wound him up  ;D

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
