I have also caught them throughout most of the river. Some spots are better than others as always. But it is one of my favorite things to do during the summer too. Just need some wading shoes a fly rod and a day off work and the rivers is yours to explore.

Hi there.  It kills me that this thread is dead, so I thought I would ask the question.  Who caught a Steelhead in the Salmon River last.  In other words what was the last time you caught a stealhead on the Salmon?  I caught a couple on May 25th, who can beat that (perfect opening for you Snagger)?

The last day I caught a couple of steelhead on the Salmon River was the same day (late April I think) I got a speeding ticket on the way home. Haven't been back since.
First one ever and I have been driving 50 plus years.

I will be back in the fall though. It will just take me a little longer. No more speeding for me.

Float rods with crayfish under a float won't work for smallies on the river! :whistling:

Hello out there fishermen!  This thread has been dead.  When I first moved to Pulaski in 2001 the salmon had already been in by this time for a week!  Prior to that I can remember catching limits of salmon before Labor Day.  What's the earliest any of you has caught a salmon in the river?

Snagger may not be fishing much but he sure is making a lot of local, and national weather news ,with his storm chasing....     ;D ;D
He got a great video last night of the storm coming through with a large rotation in it...
