Spring Crappie
« on: Apr 26, 2015, 06:50 PM »
Finally got the boat out on the water today for a couple hours.  Waited until about 9:30 to give the water a chance to warm up but it was still cold, 42 on the main lake but up to 46 degrees in some back bays.  Not surprising the fish were in the warmest water. Used a 1/8oz roadrunner jig with a 3 inch plastic to get the fish because they were on the bottom not up high.  Got a bunch of crappie and a couple oos pike. Really nice average size on the crappie averaging 12-13 inches. Kept six for dinner and they tasted great!

Really solid keepers

Couple big ones
