Back to the Coastal Brooks
« on: Apr 26, 2015, 07:55 PM »
Hit a couple more coastal brooks today.  The water temps hadn't ramped up (still struggling at 38-39*), but the action did.  I found pale, silvery, likely sea run brookies downstream within earshot of the seagulls.

At some point upstream, I ran into a natural barrier that marked the beginning of the upland portion of the brooks.

Above the barrier, there was some decent pocket water and brookies that were quite colored up for this early in the year.

The action isn't real fast yet, but I managed to chip away just enough to sneak into double digits for the day.

Awesome colors on some of those, that brook looks like a great spot, have you been to it before or first time? Double digits is not fast action for you? Must be nice  ;)  :D

Thanks, Randall.

I hit 2 spots...1 was a repeat and 1 was for the first time.  I have high expectations ;D  10 isn't particularly fast for 3 hours of brookie fishing.  For browns, on other hand, I would call it fast.

Great time of year to hit the brooks, the snow is gone, bugs aren't out yet, and the fish are starting to bite. Nice pics Jim, fun to see the fish but also the water they came out of.
