Spring walleye
« on: Apr 28, 2015, 02:36 PM »
I mainly targeted walleye this early spring up until now.  I'm hoping to start switching over to crappie fishing now that the water temps are starting to rise.  I spent a few trips to the Maumee this year and a few more trips in some local waters.   This was my first year fishing the Maumee and what an experience that was.  You certainly get the opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people there from wall walks of life.  It was a whole new method of fishing for me, and honestly took me a trip or two to get the feel for the bite.  I did enjoy learning a new style of fishing the river.  It was fun to target walleye's again after a few years of mainly pan fishing.  Im giving the eyes a break for the next few weeks until June when I leave to go to South Dakota for our annual fishing trip.  We will be targeting walleye and crappie while we are there.  I would have liked to get out on Erie for the jig bite this spring, but couldn't quite make it happen.  Maybe next year.
