Just got in. One small pike (32") and 3 bass. No walleyes. Caught all the fish between 9 and 11am. Not many boats out but I bet a lot of guys shore fishing for pike. Water temp from 45 to 50 degrees. Didn't mark many fish. Nice day and great to be back on the water....h2l

I went out Saturday evening. Had  my first walleye after  15 minutes. Got  2 more in the next 2 casts. Lost one in the following cast, and got 2 more in the next 2  casts. Limit of 5 in 6 casts, all right at 17". Went back Sunday evening and got  2 more. Also caught something I didn't recognize but it had some size to it. Looked it up when I got home and probably a white bass? Never seen one before.

There are a lot of white perch. Seen some in the 12 inch size. They do put up a good fight and will go though a dozen worms in no time....h2l

Could have been. I should have measured it and taken a picture. This was at least 12" and a couple pounds.

I won Daves contest last August with a 14 inch White perch,  but most of them run around 11 to 12 inches

Did not know there was white perch in there, have they been in there for a long time or is that new?

Give it a few years and see how fast they (white perch ) multiply , not nesessarly a good thing JMO , that's from a Oneida lake view point

I agree,  I know they changed South Bay around... I don't know if they have they same amount of feed in Sac as they do in Champlain though.

The last few years there has been a lot of baitfish. The WP seem to be hit or miss. When you get into them they will drive you nuts. I usually make a move just to get away from them. Last year I caught very few. The year before they seemed to be every where..h2l

Going to make the trip to the dead sea Saturday for the first time ever.  Should be interesting.  How are the public launches?

The launch at the town of day is nice...and usually quiet.

the launch at the northville bridge is the one I like....and its also usually quiet. Nice dock there too.

The launch at broadalbin is usually a mob scene.

Town of Day now has a dock. They are all pretty good. Campsite is not opening until the 15th from what I hear. As of yesterday they did not have  the marker buoys in yet on the Northville end of the lake. Did see some of the Danger buoys south of the islands. Good luck...h2l
