Being able to fish more than one way can increase your chances for sure ,

I was very surprised to do as well as we did in new water( North end of the lake )we vertical jigges on humps and did catch fish. They were tight but cooperative.Going to leave all trolling gear home this weekend. There is a guy on this thread that keep saying how good the jigging was,I should of paid more attention

I'm going to have to look him up. I was in the shop again all this week. That's two weeks in a row. May be forced to go out again on a weekend. Being old, I already forgot how bad it was last weekend, but the fishing was good....h2l

Left the trolling gear home and jigged, looks like the trolling gear is going to be put away for the year.We got into some nice fish after 9:00 AM when the wind laid down. The launch was empty at 1:30 but the lot was full.I talked to some bass guys from MASS. and there is supposed to be a big contest out of Broadalbin next weekend so plan accordingly.I broke a ST.Croix Avid this morning on nothing,I set the hook on a hit and it snapped it in two, missed the fish.Back up on Thursday

Fished it today and did good they have moved to a little deeper water then last week,28' to 32 Fow.Got ready to leave and had motor problems,I'm running a 2014 E-Tec 115 when I punched it to move it never got above 2,000 RPM,No whistles or lights just stuck at 2,000.If I put it in neutral the RPMs would go as high as I wanted the same with reverse.I think there is a safety Giz in the motor that keeps it slow in forward when there is a problem so you won't blow it up.The oil was fine.Off to Knapics in the AM. It's been a crazy 2 weeks,I broke a trolling rod and a St. Croix Avid then the Sonarhub I installed this week burnt out now this. Now I remember why I used to drink !!! :cursing:

They say bad things happen in threes....You should be good for awhile now. Glad you got into some fish. Must have been pretty warm out there. The lake is dropping so I would expect the fish to be a little deeper. That is about the depth I have been fishing most of the Summer. Going to try to get out a couple mornings this week. Boat traffic must have been bad today....h2l
