Savoy Mountain State Forest
« on: May 23, 2015, 09:12 AM »
Going camping with the family over the 4th of July weekend, figure I will hit the Deerfield at some point for trout but I wonder if any of the local ponds in the state forest or near by are worth hitting at night for bass, of any size? I will be bringing the canoe.  PM me if you are willing to share, or maybe fish...

Cheshire and pontoosuc are pretty close. Definitely good sized bass and pike in both of them.

Thanks, fished them both when I lived in Pittsfield... Want to try some of the local waters; UP IN THE HILLS!

Bog and Burnett's Ponds at SMSF both have good sized pickerel and small perch, and Bog has some good sized bass as well.

North Pond has trout.
