Has anyone fished below the Waterford lock near peebles island? Any luck?

thats my wheelhouse.   I launch the Lund in that section of river more than just about anywhere else.   Tons of smallish smallmouth (8"-12").   Lots of catfish up to 14lbs.   Carp galore.   A few walleyes for good measure.

Like BigRed said, plus tons of white perch. Remember it is all catch and release only there.

Any pike or Muskie?

There are still a few pike, but they are few and very far between, and do not attain the nearly the size they once did.    Was a few tiger muskies back when they stocked the mohawk with them, none in the last 10-15 years though.

Why aren't they the size they used to be? I've caught three tigers two years ago near peebles around 30 inches

Main River - catch and release area. What year? The little kid holding the tiger is now a full time mechanical engineer    Pataki opened up the C@R in 95 and the fishing was top shelf for  the first 10 years. Still can catch some but not like when it was first opened up.

Pike/esox are fickle creatures, who knows?   For the C@R area maybe fishing pressure(particularly ice fishing), poaching, dredging, fewer herring, throw in a few hurricanes or maybe all of the above.

I still like the dead sea for really big snakes but it was fun times back on the river back in the late  90s.

How recent is that second picture of the pike? I assume that was from the main rriver? How are the back channels at Waterford near the horseshoe falls that's where I caught two tiger muskies in ten minutes

we used to fish the 'horseshoe' back in the 70's & 80's a lot....an amazing place to fish, especially when the herring showed up.
