So I've been out at the Cape for five days and have done very little fishing. The salt has been very difficult between the 20+ mph winds a ton of mung in the water. So yesterday I decided to take the kayak out in the freshwater and target some smallies. Well I tried long pond and didn't want to pay $20 to park, tried Sheeps pond right down the street and the place was a zoo and I couldn't park there so I went to small trout pond around the same area and got a beautiful 20 inch brown. I didn't have my usual trout gear or bait so I tied on a three way swivel with a large weight hanging below and a very small floating rapala off of the other end (fellow site member suggested this to me a while back, I want to say it was waterwolf but can't say for sure) and began to troll the deeper part of the lake. The only fish of the day is below. Sometimes you have to make the best of the hand you're dealt.
