Bass Lake
« on: Aug 26, 2015, 08:23 PM »
Planning on heading out to Bass Lake soon.  I never fished there.  I plan to look for crappie or walleye.  And advice? Is it worth the trip?

It has been a tough year. I usually do well there. May give it another try next week. Shirley at Butch's Bait will give you a true report. Let us know how you do.

I have only caught a few there this year, tough bite but hopefully it will turn around.
Water was high all spring and summer.
Let us know if you find any.
I like to fish around the big hole myself  ;D

Thanks for your opinions ,Doesn't sound very promissing.  Is there a better lake in the area to try my luck for crappie?  Valpo area?

Agree with Pine and Stone.  Was on Bass a just over week ago. Water is really stirred up. Soon the ski boats will be gone and we can fish again.

ONE CAT FISH AND 1 MISSED BITE. (THINK A CRAPPIE). NICE DAY TO BE OUT. THE ONLY BOAT ON LAKE. WATER TEMP WAS 70. FISHED FROM 25 TO 4 FEET. VERY SLOW, SOME THINGS JUST DON'T CHANGE. GUESS I WILL GO BACK TO WORK. HAHA.

abishop - just because you didn't have a great day of fishing don't you think it is pretty drastic to go back to work ? ! ?  I would reconsider :-)

I HAVE BEEN OFF FOR A MONTH. STARTING TO DRIVE FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY AFTER LABOR DAY. JB HUNT. WORKED ON A LONG HONEY DO LIST THAT I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OFF FOR 10 MONTHS. HAD TO QUIT LAST JOB TO GET ER DONE. AMONG OTHER REASONS. ANY WAY MONEY HAS RUN OUT AND HAVE TO GET BACK AT IT. JUST HOPING BY ICE SEASON I WILL GET SOME TIME TO DO SOME DRILLING. I KNOW FISHING WILL HAVE TO BE BETTER THEN. IT HAS BEEN TERRIBLE FOR ME THIS YEAR SO FAR. THINK I WILL WAIT FOR THE ICE. LOL....
