Snuck out last night for a couple hrs shore casting hooked 4 and landed 3 keepers 16-17" nice eaters
On a better note had the sht scared out of me , while casting in  the dark a heron pulled up with wings spread and landed about 8' from me and made that horrible screeching sound , well I screamed yes sir just like a girl with a holy fudge behind it and it pooped and flew ,
Well at least only one us dropped mud lmbo
That's funny. i would liked to have seen that :w00t:

Anybody notice the white flecks on the walleye gills this year.  I don't recall seeing them ever before.  Look like some type of parasite.  Any fisheries biologists on this thread care to offer some insight?

Almost everyone I've caught has had them.  None on Ontario eyes.

I'm sure its a parasite. similar to the one aquarium fish contract.

Sounds like gill lice, early for them ?? When I was guiding fly in brook fishing trips in Quebec, at times found beautiful brook trout with the gills just coated. They don't harm the eating !! But I believe it cuts down the oxygen that they can get into the blood stream, no fight, they just drag in. These were fall fish (warm water season) just before spawning. Contact fisheries in Cortland would work best.
