Thanks guys,

Yup, I am going batty just like the rest of you. Waiting for open water. The worst of all worlds. I can't ice fish and I don't have any open water to access. I have kept myself busy retrofitting the new (used) Sea Ray and turning it into a bonafide fishing boat. I removed the bow rails and the bow cushions and replacing them with a 3/4" marine plywood platform and then mounting a pedestal and folding seat in the middle. I am on the hunt for a used electric trolling motor with a foot pedal.  Don't dare to push Sweeta-Rita too hard to get a brand new one. haha. I will take pictures and have my bud carcajou post them for me .

A bit off topic but still to due with NY.
I called Loyde today at Hornbecks bait shop in Deposite ny.
He said 80% of Cannonsville is still ice covered.
I was heading out there saturday to throw some spoons.
Loyde is a great guy.
He said he will csll me friday with a report.
This weather is wrecking everything.
And the river here in pa is to high to fis CATS.

I think that ice will be gone by the weekend. Hopefully they set the nets early next week.

Yo KP,

I am working fastidiously on the new (used) SeaRay to get it ready for open water bud. That leveling the mounting plate to the Minn Kota to the gunnel of the pleasure boat is a little tougher than I thought. I have to level it bilaterally as well as front to back. I am taking my time as I do not want it to look like a hack job. Speaking of open water, did you check out the 10 day forecast ? Looking good after Friday my friend. I have both the Larson and the SeaRay registered.  :thumbup_smilie: Thanks for the help bud.

Quite a bit of the lake opened up even more yesterday. On my way home from work at 7:30 last night it looked to be open water out to the channel in front of constantia. Today's weather should get rid of the rest of the remaining ice or most of it anyway
Nice job findin em
