Release must have gotten ahold of that bass.  ;D

Got out tonight with my father in law. Man it was hot. We trolled up some eyes. Then towards sunset we moved in shallow and caught some more eyes and smallmouth. Some of the smallies were tanks. We had a lot of fun and he left with cooler full of fish.  :thumbup_smilie:

Nice job bud!

The wife and I are going to give the 'eyes a try tomorrow evening for the first time this year..  I like to drift shallow amongst and on the edges of weed beds just using a small jig and half a crawler.  One guy I talked to said recently he's had good luck along the weed edge tossing a single blade spinner with half a crawler, catching both walleye and perch. Looking for any other techniques you guys use in shallow.  For example, is it worthwhile to toss a crank bait like a Big O?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Short mid morning troll was productive. Walleyes, drum and a bonus bass. Spoons and cranks both worked.

As for the weed bite. Crankbaits will work for sure. Eyes, bass and perch with pickerel and drum mixed in depending on where you are. Don't be afraid to fish fast.

Look at this poor guy I caught in the morning.

That must be a bass I reeled up to quick through the ice and it banged its head on the bottom of the ice on its way up!!!😜 So sorry....😁

Got out with big jimmy from PA and the snag for a late afternoon jigging session, lake was rough to start but the eyes were already on the feed, the lake did lay down a little later that on , lots of nice eaters and tossed back some nice ones
Water temp was 78.5 at the surface we fished from 7:00- 10:00
