Ive often noticed the different color variations of the pike here in NY, For instance in Delta lake where the water is cloudy most times they have a greyish violet tint to them, and if you go up into the fulton chain they have a strong yellowish tint to them, and down in the barge canal the orange and reds of the fins can be really dark and firery..

this is why  you never  should discard glow sticks into the water
