don't forget the bug spray or long shirt and pants and some gloves and a head bug net it's black fly season! got bit a million times wile outthis week end if Canada is like I remember your going to need it..

Got this covered for sure Boon.
We got a report last week form the lodge that with the heat this year, the black-flies are done already.

Here's what I ordered for the bug spray.  A gut in another thread swears by it and says it's way better for you health-wise than deet.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CMQJYU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have a head net that I'll take.
Have used it on previous trips up there.
But if the black flies are truly done I probably won't use it.

And I ordered some 110 SPF pump spray sunblock too at same time.

I hope there done up there the bears even hide when it's not....any how I don't like insect repellents cause they wreck lures wreck line and rod finish steering wheels etc...   from being on your hand even there back of them deet  will even destroy waders.. neoprene or breathable so I tend not to use it...from what I know sawyer inset repellent is top notch form what the reviews said about it... I think I used it a long time ago but cant remember if any thing good came of it...  I have used it just don't like spray on chemicals and the sticky feeling they give to me that's why I wear a hooded sweat shirt sweat pants long socks gloves and a bug proof hood. some like them better off etc... but me I do not cause of the problems they leave behind like the waders etc... etc...   all you need is light cotton gloves if your hands are uncomfortable and slit the finger tip so you can feel the line when you cast and tuck it away if need be..   I would rather sweat it out then get eaten alive by them little suns of guns to tell you the truth...

Might be a good idea to pack a pike mouth spreader if you haven't already.

All packed.
Except for the sunblock, skeeter block, and new battery charger for the Cannon digital which is (hopefully) all sitting on my desk at work.
I've been up to Watertown over the past 3 days and had thast stuff shipped there.
I'll grab them tomorrow.
Everything is in the car.
We are all meeting for dinner at one guys house tomorrow night.
Wives included.
Then the 2 vehicles, mine and one guy's Caddy SUV, will get packed with everyone's gear.
The plan is to meet back at that guy's house at 5am and leave by 5:30 at the latest.
Heading to Duty Free and then over the Peace Bridge.
Why he selected the Peace Bridge I dunno.
It's longer than the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge, but I'm not in charge.
Then up to North Bay for a refuel and a quick lunch.
Then we head up to Mowatt's Landing where we pick up the first boat at 2pm.
Then about a 30 minute boat trip down the river to the dam.
Then it's a portage down the trail to below the dam.
They have a "mule/tram" thingy to haul all the gear down to the lower river.
Then the 2nd boat ride out the river onto the lake and on to Island 10.
Second boat ride is about 30 minutes.
They say the overall trip from Mowatt's Landing to the Island is about 90 minutes.

I'm stoked!

tick tock..................

Thanks guys.
To say I'm stoked would be a serious understatement.

Decided to leave the office today at noon.
Whatever ain't done can wait until 7/5 when I get back here.

Gotta hit the bank to get my money for the trip.
And then I will return here to check on the darn sunscreen that hasn't shown yet.
If it isn't here when I get back I'll stop and pick up something else.

I need a cold beer.

tick freeken tock......................
