Looks spectacular! Love the shore lunch idea.  :P  Might have to sign up myself. About how long of a drive to the pick up point from the boarder? Thanks for the link!

The website has a page that shows the mileage from various locations.
Says 407 miles from Buffalo.
But I ran it through my Street Atlas software and it says 408 from the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge and 424 from the Peace Bridge in Buffalo.
So I'm doubting the 407 is truly accurate.
But still close.

The 5 other guys I'm going with have been going there for years.
They say 8 hrs, which includes a stop at the duty free for liquor and also a stop up in North Bay for licenses and leaches, etc.

Here's a link to the page with the mileages -

You need a tackle mule?

Rg
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Never wish for time to hurry up, but this trip I literally can't wait for Bob.
I have wanted to go to this place for about 5-6 years.
Haven't been able to get someone to go with because of the cost.
My son Jeff said no unless I pay for it - I told him HE should be paying for both of us.   8)
And Donna likes to fish, but not for 7 days straight, with NOTHING else to do.  Can you even believe this???   :D
And most of my buddies either can't get into Canada  :whistling:, or are still in prison.

Can't wait.

I've made numerous trips to northern Quebec. Many all by my lonesome. More expensive but far less difficult to travel alone. Those rates really don't seem all that bad for what they offer.

It is if you are paying for two.
But, no, they aren't really that bad Bob.

Last trip to Senneterre was about 12 years ago and a week, American plan was around $800+gratuities, all inclusive. So , today's dollars and an island like that....looks like a good deal. Hope the fishing is good to you.

Always loved going American plan. Man they feed you well  ;D

Got my 8 day fishing license for Ontario today.
Couldn't locate my old Outdoors card.
Had to call the 800 number to get my old card number.
Was on hold for a few minutes but the woman was very pleasant and helpful.
Easy experience.
Then went to the website to get the card updated - $9.68
And the 8 day Conservation fishing license - about $31

All in all, an easy process.

Their website is simple to understand and operate.
Afterwards, it allowed me to print my license and the replacement card will be mailed, but I don't need the card while up there fishing.
I wish NY State's DEC website was as simple as Ontario's.

tick tock...................

This past week I order 500 large Canadian crawlers.
They are shipping tomorrow to me.
The guys and me agreed this is good insurance.
they said it's hit and miss on bait up there.
The crawlers ran $58 and shipping is free.
That's only $10 each to insure we have enough bait.
I ordered them in the shredded paper - required when you cross the US/CAN border.

I know it's almost 2 weeks off, but I started packing this afternoon.

Taking 5 rods and reels.
One 7.5' trolling rig with a line counter on it.
One 7' spinning setup that will throw large spoons to pike.
One stiff 7' spinning setup that will back up the trolling rod or the above spinning rod.
One 6' med/light spinning rod with a very nice Pflueger reel for walleye jigging.
And last but not least, my 6.5' Uglystick to back up all of the above.
Got the rods bound and into the rod case.
Got the reels in my reel case.
Packed my clamp on rod holder for the boat up there.
Island 10 has Lund boats!!!!

Added 4' more battery cable to my portable 40# transom mount Minn Kota.
Updated the Navionics card and put it into the portable HDS-5 and tested that here at my desk.
Added 4' more battery wire to the HDS-5, just in case.

Before I left the lake I put my 2 model 24 deep storage batteries on charge for the week.
Next week I'll swap them for the bigger 29's that are in my Lund.
I'm gonna take the 29's up north for the Minn Kota as they give me 25% more run time than the 24's.
I'll take my new 2 bank changer and use one battery while keeping the 2nd on charge during the day while out fishing.
The Island's generator is shut off at 11pm each night and doesn't come back on line until 6 AM.
The 2nd bank on the charger will be used to recharge the 3rd deep cycle that the outfitter is providing me to run my CPAP machine.

Got the gopro charged and packed.
Got out my Canon digital camera and can't locate the charger - d**n!
I'll buy another this week - $7.26 on Amazon and with Prime - shipping is free.

Went through my travel tackle bag making sure I have enough of everything.

Still have a ton more to do.
