I'm a believer in scent for attracting fish Rat, here's my experience. Years ago I drifted into a lilypad field on Winni. I look down and there is a 3lb. LM bass just sitting in a little pocket on the outside edge of the pad field. I knew he wouldn't bite because I'm practically right on top of him, and he wouldn't leave his ambush spot. So I sit there with my fluke dancing it on his back, head, tail, everywhere. He just ignored with with an attitude for about 15 minutes. I take the fluke and smother it with the pink smelly jelly, throw it behind him and instantly he turns 180* and nails it. It kind of made me a believer right there. It may not work all and every time, but I think it can't hurt either. I also like to use it because I smoke a lot, and my wife uses fabric softener and dryer sheets, so I'm trying to mask odors. Now as far as gasoline, I don't know what to think. Many years ago I watched a video of Doug Hannon open the cover of his gas tank, dip a worm in, cast and catch a nice LM bass more than once(older experienced fish). Some people claim to use WD-40, I never have, but that seems a little odd.Back in the day, when Berkerly just came out with the power worm, they stunk pretty bad but they worked really good.
