You can hear the crickets
« on: Nov 19, 2015, 06:20 AM »
A major thinning of the herd going on these days in here.

I went over to IS and it's silly.

like 10-12 pages a day.

Nutz.

Oh well...............this will allow some of us to get some rest.

Not anymore really.
I have neuropathy in my feet.
The cold makes it worse.
Really worse.
I gave all my gear to my son Jeff.
Hut, auger, sounder, Otter sled, heater, everything.
I might go out once or twice a season but I pay for it when I do.
I like ice fishing but don't "live" for it like some.
I much more prefer fishing in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt in 80-90 degree weather.
Out of a boat, off shore, doesn't much matter.

I spend time on IS throughout the winter.
To kill time.
More of a lurker over there unless I see a thread worth getting involved with.
IS is more of a chat board than MFF in my opinion.
A lot more of the same questions over and over.
But that's ok.

Sorry to hear about your condition.....as we get older the struggles to do what we like multiply.... myself , I lived to archery hunt but the knee replacement has kept me out of the woods...so I have replaced it with fishing hard from the procraft....that's hard enough....I could do more but I made the dedication to fish with the purchase of better rods and reels...worth every penny... my next trip to the open water will put me at 100 for the year...I keep a log and was surprised to see how many times out....so about those "CRICKETS" I feel alone when reporting on my lake....I have been the only one posting since May.... CRICKETS.....ghost town....I do ice fish and post on IS so will continue to post over there .... Good luck..... fin

I think we're suffering from melatonin deficiency.

Need warm days in the sun.....mosquitos........streams.........fly rods........fish. Have single digit temps, snow piles, short days........cold.....  :'(

It is to weep!

It does seem to go by a lot quicker as I age. I always thought it would slow down. Strange.

With the major meltdown that's going on right now, we'll be seeing more and more people trickling in here!

I will be prepping my spring gear and my open water kayak gear over the next few weeks.
The pickerel will have been spawning and the perch will be hitting the shallows looking for nesting sites, and the world will continue to spin (out of control?) but we will be there to catch "the big one"!

I was contemplating one last ice trip this weekend, but a busted washing machine and loads of laundry tell me a different story!
