Decided since the temperatures were up today that I would go fishing instead of hunting. Struck out at the first pond, but I was trying a new spot so I wasn't surprised. I loaded back up and went over to a pond I haven't fished since June. The wind was really bad there and the fishing was a little slow, but I managed 1 small largemouth and 1 crappie. All in all I was happy to come home with a fish and avoid the skunk. I answered some questions I have had, and was glad to do it before things iced over. I had to break a little ice at the second spot.
This may have been my last open water trip, but the way the weather has been I am not putting the rod and boat away just yet.
