Fresh water Drum Fish

Hello Guys & gals
I caught a very big freshwater drum
& later on that nite I had a very brite red off flesh color & I didnt bang my /hand it sorta looked like I burnt it
?? It doesnt hurt
just wanted to hear anyones story

Did it itch at all? I sometimes get an allergic reaction to fish slime. I get all red and itchy where the slime was, usually only when my skin is really dry though.

Yes could be an allergic reaction. I knew a fellow fish taxidermist that had to wear rubber gloves when he handled fish.
Also there are various bacteria from fish that can invade cuts and scrapes. It's happened to me a few times as a fish taxidermist. Not fatal though.
