here is one of my inventions it is a over head rod rack I made with pvc pipe schedule 40 of 2 inch i.d.... I cut in to rings on the table saw and drilled small hole straight threw then drilled a bigger hole on one side adjacent to the smaller hole to screw the screw that hold it to the ceiling threw make it easier in other words... see picture of rod rack.. also I chose the basement to do this in cause it is a conditioned space and is cool if you chose the garage it may make the rods break easily cause of the temp up in the rafters is warmer just a head up...
