Night trolling maxinkuckee?
« on: Jul 19, 2016, 09:49 PM »
With the crazy temps this weekend I think I'm going to give it a shot. Any advice?

Average 10 to 15 -I usually like 12 to 15 but just to the edge or over the weed bed. N.E. has been a favorite but I hardly get to fish
but will soon with retirement coming soon.

Fished from sundown until about 11. Got one short eye and nothing else. All the floating weeds made trolling tough.

That's Maxi, lots of floating weeds. I was there Friday night and we caught 10 shorts no keepers. Boated 4 nice smallmouth and around 15 rock bass. Maxi has been tough this year for me so far.

When you say "shorts" is this due to new regs or are these fish like ten inches or so?  Just wondering if the new regs will take a year or two before the fish get to size?

Great report guys.

Most of the shorts I have been catching are in the 12 to 14 inch range. Only a few 15".
