Bass Lake 7-27-16
« on: Jul 28, 2016, 12:05 PM »
Son Tom JR. and I fished Bass Lake yesterday and got 2 eyes, 14 1/4 and 15 inch which are now in my freezer, temp was hot.
Water temp was between 88 to 92 degrees. No wind really to speak of and very few boats out. Great time that end up being productive and
very hot.

That size is like the biggest perch you could ever hope to catch. Great eating.

Tom the size limit for walleye has changed this year to 16 inches its 14 inches south of state road 26 not north of 26 just letting you so you don't get pinched by DNR

There's 2 lakes that remain at 14 inch, Bass Lake and I believe Wolf lake that produces some large walleye.

Nice job. The hot weather is tuff to fish in. But its kept the boat traffic down in are area also. We have been able to fish main lake spots on multiple lakes and reservoirs. And fish have turned the corner and the summer bites on. Picked up a few short eyes while crappie fishing this past week. It's always nice to get rewarded after sweating it out!!!

Yes your right, summer bite so we speedup for that aggressive bite thing that goes on-reaction bites are probably the better words for it.
Drag that bottom and speed it up boys.

Nope and last 2 times I went by there was 0 vehicles at the ramp.
I think I did read where the DNR stocked 80,000 walleye in there this fall.
If you wouldn't of caught them all last year we would have some there now lol.

Not me, I think you are thinking of the guy who fishes by himself in the red boat. Oh, maybe there will be some for the taking thru the ice this year. The ones they stocked were they fingerlings? Do you know?

why did they keep the eye regs on bass/wolf?  if they grow big eyes, you would think they would grow more of them with new regs.  ?

Lakes that didn't get the new regs are ones that don't consistently grow them big enough for the new size limit

Small 1.5 inch and that area.  Yea the guy in the red boat needs to find work so he don't fish so much lol.
I've seen plenty of bigger fish come out of Bass Lake but that's OK, we like them regs.

16 inchers are hard to come by at Bass lake. They're in there but it's over run with 13.5" - 14.5"
