Fishing outta the kayak here in the morning (friday) for the first time. Anybody been here lately?

Just bought a house near LaPorte and Potato Creek is on the "to do" list for next year. Please let us know how you did.  We will probably take the kayaks when we go.

Didn't do well at all. Only managed 4 small crappie. Didn't have any live bait tho. Water looked real high. Got to see a bald eagle tho so that was cool

That area has been hit several times with pretty good storms since last week.  I would say that this fall the wipers should be hitting on the surface and that is a blast.  Just remember that if you are in a kayak using light line to play the fish out before it gets close to the boat. Learned that one the hard way on Hardy Lake.
