CANNONSVILLE ,DOWNSVILLE

Has anyone been on CANNONSVILLE or DOWNSVILLE as of late?
The SMALLIES will be getting started,pretty soon
Im waiting for my stickers to come back for my boats,to get up there.
Nothing like the smallie bite on those dams.
TRout season was slow this year for me..
I only got out a few times on CANNONSVILLE,,nothing BIG.av few 4lbers......

Skaneateles Lake smallies eat so many crayfish they are greasy and taste just fine.

I'm on the same page as you Rd. I don't fish tourneys but I also don't eat bass. It's just that some folks are adamantly opposed to anyone taking/killing bass for any reason because they fish bass tourneys.

Personally, I don't care who eats them, to each his own.

Cannonsville has been good and only 10 minutes from Hancock,....but Pepacton( Downsville) which is about 30 minutes has been producing more bass bites and action.
Both rezzies will fish well until the season closes.

I like bass ................ it's funny when I was a kid every fisherman was after bass!  and  bluegills and crappies  where considered something kids caught  and to little to clean ....now bass are considered  not as good table fair    my suggestion don't listen to other people try them if you like them then eat em ....they taste fine to me.....

DOWNSVILLE is a great FISHERY ALSO,,I have 1boat there and 3 on cannonsville.
Downsville produces more bass for sure,,,
Both dam are great in my eyes..

I take friends to both dams and they are INSTANTLY HOOKED ON THEM.
1 ,5lb brown and they say    ,,WHY HAVENT YOU EVER TAKEN ME HERE BEFORE???LOL
Then their first 3lb,SMALLIE and they are buying boats and putting them on the DAMS theirselfs.

I think one good trip to these dams and your hooked.
im fishing them since im 17,,im 54 now.

I have a boat in my back yard im planning on putting on NEVERSINK this year.!!!!!!!

Coo coo the lordsville bridge znd up a ways had some great eye fishing in the day.Probably still dose.lol
Im getting too old to drag the boat up the riffs anymore.lol.
And my RA filled body cant did Lamprey anymore.
i did fish lordsville and stockport last november for eyes from shore.
diddnt do too good.1 eye below the bridge at Stockers.
Getting old Stinks.

They do taste fine, I ate one last winter because I had killed only a few keeper perch and a crappie on a trip.  I needed enough filet to feed three so I kept a 3lber and it was just as good as the perch and crappie.
